How to do this activity

  1. On the left are five Jewish holidays. On the right is one thing families do on each.
  2. Draw a line from each holiday to the thing that goes with it.
  3. Color the pictures when you finish!

The holiday

Rosh Hashanah the Jewish New Year, in autumn
Hanukkah eight nights of light, in winter
Purim a joyful, dress-up holiday
Passover a special meal, in spring
Shabbat a day of rest, every week

What families do

Dip apples in honey for a sweet year
Light one more candle each night, and play with a dreidel
Wear costumes, make noise, and eat triangle cookies
Gather for a seder and retell a long-ago story
Light candles on Friday and share challah bread
